Introducing Pulsar Map Cards: A Better Way to Share and Discover Maps!

Grand Truck Simulator 2 has a long history of community-made maps. Pulsar Map Cards are a new way to share those creations more clearly on Discord—and to help players find maps that match what they are looking for.

This article describes work that is rolling out gradually. Details, availability, and coverage may change as we learn from the community and continue improving the system.

What are Pulsar Map Cards?

A Map Card is a structured summary of a community map: title, author, files, preview images, and—where enabled—community feedback such as ratings. Instead of scrolling through long threads to guess what a map includes, players can open a card that presents the essentials in one place.

Our goal is to make sharing and discovery more reliable and easier to understand, not to replace the creativity and variety that already define the GTS2 map community.

Upload a Map from #maps

If you share maps on the official Grand Truck Simulator Discord, you can start from the #maps channel. Use the Upload a Map entry point when you are ready to submit a new map package for a card.

When you upload, follow the prompts to attach the map files and any preview images the flow requests. If something fails validation, the bot should explain what to fix—please share feedback with the team so we can keep improving the experience.

Submit or update with /map-card

For day-to-day use, the /map-card slash command is the main way to submit a new map card or update an existing one (for example, a new version or corrected files). The command walks through the fields needed to build the card.

We are still tuning this flow. Command options and validation rules may evolve as Map Cards reach more players.

What you see on a card

Each published card is meant to answer practical questions at a glance:

  • Who made it — author or credit line as provided at submission time.
  • What you are downloading — the map files associated with the card, with clear naming where possible.
  • How it looks — preview images supplied with the submission (when provided).

Cards link back to the sharing context on Discord so players can ask questions, report issues, or thank creators in the same places they already gather.

Ratings and discovery (gradual rollout)

We are introducing ratings to help surface maps that players find useful. Ratings are not a verdict on creativity or effort—they are one signal among many as the library grows.

Because this part of Map Cards is newer, not every card or player may see ratings yet, and behavior may change as we roll the feature out carefully. We would rather expand slowly and keep the system understandable than promise a finished discovery experience on day one.

If you can rate a card, please use that power thoughtfully: constructive scores help other drivers; abusive patterns work against the community we are trying to support.

Bringing older maps into the library

GTS2’s map history stretches across years of community work. Recovering and cataloging older maps is an ongoing effort, not a one-time import. We are working progressively to attach more legacy submissions to Map Cards where we have enough information and permission from creators.

We cannot claim that every historical map is already represented, or that the catalog is complete. Some maps may stay in older threads until they are resubmitted or recovered manually. If you authored a map that should be listed, /map-card is the best path to add or refresh your entry.

What this means for GTS2 players

Map Cards do not change how Grand Truck Simulator 2 plays on your device. They change how we organize and talk about community maps on official channels—so newcomers and veterans alike can spend less time searching and more time driving.

We will share updates as Map Cards mature, as more maps are recovered, and as ratings and discovery tools expand. Thank you for continuing to build and share the routes that keep GTS2 alive.
